The SSPEED Center offers workshops and continuing education short courses for Emergency Responders and others associated with deployment during severe storm events.
Four training courses were held in 2008 at Rice University:

- June 23, 2008 - "Gulf Coast Severe Storm and Hurricane Preparedness"
